Alaska: The Funny River fire continues to burn in southern Alaska near Soldotna on the Kenai peninsula, emitting a large amount of smoke. Light smoke is seen extending across much of the northern Gulf of Alaska, with a moderately dense strip extending due south of the fire. Residual smoke from the wildfire stretches across southern Yukon, Northwest Territories, northern British Columbia, Alberta and across a large section of northern/central Saskatchewan. Smoke cannot be seen coming from the source at the current time due to cloud cover. -J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
