DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Aerosols: An area of unknown aerosols is located over the eastern seaboard of the US and extends into the Atlantic. The origin and composition of these aerosols is unknown. Smoke: Canada: Central Northwest Territories: Numerous wildfires to the north and south of the Great Slave Lake are generating significant amounts of moderately dense to dense smoke. This smoke is moving to the north and then east extending into northern Nunavut. Eastern Canada: Remnant smoke from the fires around the Great Slave Lake in Canada has dipped south and several ribbons of light smoke are now passing through northeastern Manitoba, central Ontario and western Quebec. -Salemi THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
