DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1730Z June 25, 2014
SMOKE: Canada: A large amount of wildfires continue to burn in Northwest Territories and northern Saskatchewan, producing a expansive plume of light-moderate density smoke extending through Northwest Territories, eastern Yukon, Nunavut, Hudson Bay, central and northern Manitoba, northern Ontario and northwestern Quebec. A small area of heavy density smoke can also be seen swirling north of Reindeer Lake. The newly emitted smoke is moving northward, while remnant smoke is being drawn southeastward. Remnant smoke can also be seen in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as off the coast of northern Yukon. Heeps THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
