DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 2345Z November 13, 2014
An area of thin remnant smoke was detected over Vancouver Island and extending into the Pacific this evening. This smoke is from the recent numerous prescribe burns occurring in British Columbia. This burning has also resulted in numerous smoke plumes associated with the fires through central and southern British Columbia and portions of west central Alberta. There were also a few smoke plumes of note detected over southwest Louisiana. These plumes were moving south and reaching into the Gulf of Mexico by sunset. Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
