DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Smoke: California: The Owens River wildfire in east-central California just south of Mono Lake is producing light to moderate density smoke that is traveling towards the west/southwest and out over the Pacific Ocean. Also, combining with the smoke seen from the Owens River wildfire is light to moderate density smoke from the Soberanes wildfire along the central California coast. The Willard wildfire in northern California is producing light density smoke and traveling to the east into northern Nevada. Arizona: Wildfires in northern Arizona are producing light to moderate density smoke that is mostly drifting to the east and southeast into northern New Mexico. Wildfires in central Arizona are producing light to moderate density smoke that is mainly traveling towards the west. Whisnant THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
