SMOKE... Central and Southern Appalachians/Tennessee Valley: Numerous wildfires continue to burn across eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, extreme southwest Virginia, eastern Kentucky and northern Georgia. Smoke from these wildfires is seen this morning over eastern Tennessee, southwest North Carolina, northwest Georgia and extreme northeast Alabama. A area of heavier smoke is seen over northwest Georgia. Smoke is most likely farther eastward in North Carolina, but clouds obscure the view. An area of light to moderately dense residual smoke from these wildfires is seen across parts of central/western Tennessee and northern Mississippi and the tip of northwest Alabama and south central Kentucky.
