DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Eastern Florida: Fires along the eastern coast of Florida are producing light density smoke that are being carried towards the east and into the North Atlantic Ocean. Southwestern South Dakota: A large fire in Southwestern South Dakota is producing light density smoke. The smoke plume is observed to stretch into Northwestern Nebraska. UNKNOWN AEROSOL: An unknown aerosol was visible in satellite imagery in the western portion of the Bay of Campeche. The aerosol was moving towards the north along the eastern coast of Mexico. -WB THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
