DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Gulf of Mexico: An area of light density smoke from fire activity over Mexico extended from just west of the Florida Keys southwest to the Yucatan Peninsula and then extended northwest through the western Gulf of Mexico and eastern Mexico towards southern Texas. Western Mexico: An area of light density smoke from fires over Mexico was extending northwest along the western coast of Mexico towards portions of southern Arizona. Central Canada: An area of aerosol covered a portion of Central Canada from central Manitoba extending westward through central Saskatchewan to central Alberta. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
