THROUGH 1730Z July 26, 2017
Area from the Pacific Northwest/Western Canada eastward over the North Central US and virtually all of the central and Eastern portions of Canada... A large mass of primarily thin density smoke covered a good portion of central and southern Canada as well as the northern part of the US from the Pacific Northwest to the western Great Lakes region. This smoke was attributed mainly to wildfire activity over Montana and the northern half of Idaho, the southern part of British Columbia, and the southern portion of the Northwest Territories. Moderately dense to thick smoke was seen stretching from near the border of the Northwest Territories-northeastern Alberta-northern Saskatchewan southeastward to southern Manitoba. Other patches of moderately dense to thick smoke were visible over central and eastern Montana, western Montana, central Idaho, as well as central and eastern British Columbia. DUST: Gulf of Mexico.... A swath of leftover Saharan Dust extended from the Texas-Louisiana border southeastward over the north central Gulf of Mexico and from there extended to the east and northeast across the northern and central portion of the Florida peninsula.
