SMOKE:
New Mexico...
The Buzzard Wildfire located in Catron County was seen producing thin
to moderate density smoke which was generally moving to the east across
central New Mexico. A patch of what is believed to be leftover detached
smoke from this fire was noted moving to the east and southeast over
southern Kansas, Oklahoma, and northern Texas.
Southern Texas/Western Gulf of Mexico/Mexico/Central America...
A sprawling area of thin density smoke attributed mainly to the ongoing
seasonal fires in portions of Mexico and Central America was visible
covering a good portion of Mexico and some of Central America with the
smoke also spreading northward across the western Gulf of Mexico and
possibly into southern and southeastern Texas.
Northwestern and Central Canada...
A region of thin density aerosol which may be leftover smoke from some
of the recent wildfire activity in western and central Canada could be
seen over a portion of the Northwest Territories as well as northern
Alberta and northern Saskatchewan.

THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS
OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME
DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE
FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST
ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF
THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO
THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE:
