A large area of light density remnant smoke likely originating from Russia continues to be observed over much of northern Canada this morning, as far as Nunavut and Hudson Bay, extending southward over Quebec to at least the St. Lawrence River, and is predominately moving east and southward. This area likely expands further over Ontario and Manitoba, but is obscured by clouds. Another large area of light density remnant smoke is seen over southern Alberta to southern Manitoba, also moving eastward. Additionally, large wildfires located in northeastern Ontario and western Quebec are producing moderate-to-heavy dense smoke plumes extending northward initially and turning southward that are adding to the upper level remnant smoke. Ohio Valley to Mid-Atlantic... An area of remnant smoke likely related to the fires and remnant smoke in Canada is located from eastern Illinois and western Tennessee to the Atlantic coast from New Jersey to Florida, and is drifting generally southward. DUST: Caribbean... An area of Saharan dust is moving westward across the Atlantic, extending as far west as the Yucatan Peninsula and as far north as the Florida Keys.
