DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Gulf of Mexico/Mexico/Northern Central America... An incredible amount of fires over Mexico and Central America continue to produce a large area of light to moderate density smoke that extends over most of the Gulf of Mexico from western Florida to southern Texas and then south into portions of southern and eastern Mexico and northern Central America and into the eastern Pacific Ocean. Within this larger area of smoke, high density smoke extended over northern Central Mexico into southern Mexico and the southern Gulf of Mexico. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
