DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Ontario... A detached light density plume is located over the southwestern part of the province. Minnesota/North Dakota/Manitoba/Saskatchewan... Numerous seasonal fires over northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota are producing light to moderate density plumes that are moving to the northwest. A wildfire north of Camperville in southwestern Manitoba is producing a moderate density plume that is moving to the east-northeast. A couple of wildfires about 40 miles east-northeast of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan have moderate density plumes spreading both east-northeast and south-southeast. Locally heavy plumes are found in the immediate vicinity of these fires. Mexico... Widespread seasonal fire activity is observed over most of south and southeastern part of the country. A large region of moderate to heavy density smoke is observed near the southwest Pacific coast and adjacent coastal waters. A light density plume covers much of central and southeastern Mexico. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
