DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Florida... Agricultural burning activity was observed mostly southeast, south and west of Lake Okeechobee with light density smoke dispersing toward the northwest across the lake and over Glades County. Dust: There was dust seen in near the Baja California, Mexico and southern California border. The plume was moving SE reaching the Gulf of California. SMOKE/AEROSOL: Bay of Campeche/Gulf of Mexico/Southern and Eastern Mexico/Northwestern Central America/Pacific Ocean South of Mexico and Central America... The usual combination of light density smoke from seasonal fires in Mexico and Central America and other atmospheric pollutants including aerosols from gas flaring and other industries in the region was visible this morning over much of central-western Gulf of Mexico, including the Bay of Campeche to the south and the southern Texas coastline to the north. Rodriguez THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
