DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE/AEROSOL: Gulf of Mexico, Southern and Eastern Mexico, Northwestern Central America and the Pacific Ocean south and west of southwest Mexico and northwest Central America…. An area of smoke from seasonal fire activity occurring in portions of Mexico, Central America, Cuba and the Southeastern United States along with aerosols and p from industrial sources and possible blowing dust was seen mainly in Cuba, Mexico, and Central America while extending through the eastern Gulf of Mexico, eastern and southern Mexico, northwestern Central America and into the Pacific Ocean south and west of northwestern Central America and southwestern Mexico. In addition, this smoke previously extended further north into the Gulf of Mexico, bordering the Gulf States of the United States however, heavy cloud clover precluded observation for this morning’s analysis Nguyen THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
