DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE/AEROSOL: Cuba, Southeast Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Keys…. Fire activity over Cuba was producing an area of light density smoke that was extending from portions of eastern Cuba into the southeast Gulf of Mexico and over the western Florida Keys. Southwestern Mexico, Northwestern Central America and the Pacific Ocean south and west of southwest Mexico and northwest Central America…. An area of smoke from seasonal fire activity occurring in portions of Mexico, Central America along with aerosols and from industrial sources in Mexico and Central America was seen over portions of southwestern Mexico, northwestern Central America and extending into the Pacific Ocean south and west of southwest Mexico and northwest Central America. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
