Northern California... A wildfire in northern California could be seen producing mostly moderate to dense smoke which moved to the south as evening approached. Central Texas/Northern Mexico… Scattered wildfires and seasonal burning activity from Texas were observed producing an area of light density smoke over Central Texas/Northern Mexico. Mississippi Valley Southeastern U.S... An area of light density smoke, from fires over the Southeastern and South Central United States, was seen briefly earlier today extending from portions of Louisiana through the northern region of the Mississippi valley and into Tennessee and Kentucky. Heavy cloud cover over the eastern U.S made it difficult to determine the full extent of the smoke in these regions.
