Due to the COMMS issues, Altika products may be delivered out of the normal delivery times for the near term. Whenever the AltiKa products arrive at NESDIS out of the normal delivery times the Satellite Ocean Heat Content Suite of products will be regenerated using both Jason-2 and Saral/AltiKa SSHas and made available for users. NAVO is making progress, and plans for normal AltiKa products deliveries in the near future (TBD). *Topic:* Satellite Ocean Heat Content Suite degraded *Date Issued:* September 22, 2015 1640Z *Product(s) or Data Impacted:* Satellite Ocean Heat Content Suite *Date/Time of Initial Impact: *September 19, 2015 *Date/Time of Expected End:* Until further notice ** *Length of Event:* Until further notice *Details/Specifics of Change:* NAVOCEANO has changed over from the Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN) to the NIPRNET/Federation Gateway. As a result, passive FTP connections no longer work and NAVO cannot retrieve Saral AltiKa data from the CNES -aviso server. This means that, until a workaround can be put in place, NESDIS will not receive AltiKa Sea Surface Height Anomaly data from NAVO formatted for use by our Ocean Heat Content Product processing system. Alternate means of flowing the Saral AltiKa data from CNES to NAVO are being investigated and NESDIS continues to receive Jason-2 Sea Surface Height Anomaly data from NAVO for input into its Satellite Ocean Heat Content processing system.Contact Information for Further Information: ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov and 301-817-3880.
