The purpose of the exercise is to ensure the ability to failover NOAA-20/S-NPP/GCOM-W1 for both flight and data operations to the CBU. The CBU Facility Backup Exercise will begin at approximately 0800 EDT / 1200 UTC on May 8, 2018. During that planned time: * NOAA-20/S-NPP/GCOM-W1 product generation and distribution from CBU will run for approximately 25 hours; expected end on May 9 at 0900 EDT / 1300 UTC when data operations will be transferred back to the primary facility at NSOF * IDMZ services will be transferred to CBU for approximately 48 hours * Flight/satellite operations portion of the test will run for approximately 48 hours as noted before. Important Note: NDE/PDA users may see up to a hour delay in data receipt during the initial start of NDE/PDA operations from CBU. When data services return back to the NSOF primary system, residual data may still be in the queue at the CBU NDE/PDA backup. Although the COOP exercise will conclude on May 10, 2018 at 0900 EDT / 1300 UTC, Flight/satellite operations and IDMZ services will operate from CBU for an additional few days. In the event a Critical Weather Day (CWD) is declared on that start date, the exercise would be canceled and it will be rescheduled for following day (May 9, 2018) or the following week (May 15–17, 2018) depending on the length of the critical weather event. *Contact Information for Further Information:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov Web Site(s) for applicable information: N/A This message was sent fromESPC.Notification@noaa.gov .
