Topic: SeaWiFS imaging restored 16 Jun 2009
Message Issued: Thursday, June 18, 2009 (1340 UTC)
Satellites Impacted: OrbView-2 (GeoEye)
Products Impacted: Operational (SeaWiFS) CoastWatch ocean color
products
Date/Time of Outage: 23 Apr 2009 – 16 Jun 2009
-----------------------------------------
Details:
GeoEye informed NOAA that the SeaWiFS (Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view
Sensor) aboard
OrbView-2 is imaging again. GeoEye reports that recovery
is complete
and
all subsystems are nominal. SeaWiFS imaging resumed DAY 167
(16 Jun
2009)
at 22:50 UTC, so operational (SeaWiFS) CoastWatch ocean color products
are
being generated daily again for eastern continental US coastal regions.
Once 75
days of images have accumulated, CoastWatch ocean color anomaly
products will be
generated from SeaWiFS also.
CoastWatch users can still use MODIS/Aqua-derived and
MERIS/Envisat-derived ocean
color products.
