This is the stop maneuver scheduled to resume GOES-12 as GOES-East operations. There is a backup day scheduled for Wednesday, December 19. However, we will continue GOES-10 as GOES-East through the GOES-12 maneuver, so there will be no loss of GOES-East operations. On Monday December 17, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: GOES-12 Maneuver Schedule starts at 0436 UTC on December 17, 2007. (Southern Hemisphere Scan at 0439 UTC is canceled) >From 0445 UTC through 1114 UTC -- GOES-12 Routine Imaging and Soundings. >From 1115 UTC through 1144 UTC -- GOES-12 Full Disk Imaging and Routine Soundings. GOES-12 Northern Hemisphere scan replaces Full Disk at 1145 UTC. GOES-12 CONUS sounding at 1146 UTC is canceled. *From 1200 UTC through 1314 UTC -- No GOES-12 Imaging or Soundings* **NOTE: GOES-11 will not be placed into Full Disk mode to cover this maneuver** >From 1315 UTC through 2044 UTC -- GOES-12 Post Maneuver Recovery Including: * Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX15 and XX45 * CONUS Soundings at XX46 2045 UTC December 17 -- GOES-12 Routine Scan Operations Resume Expect GOES-12 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours following the maneuver. GOES-East operation (GINI/NOAAPORT and Products) will be switched from GOES-10 back to GOES-12 following the INR recovery period, at approximately 2045 UTC. OSDPD will closely monitor all production to ensure smooth transition. Once verified that GOES-12 is operating as GOES-East, OSO will resume GOES-South America operations on GOES-10. --------------------------- Contact Information: Brian Hughes Satellite Services Division NOAA/NESDIS/OSDPD 301-763-8051 x106 Brian.Hughes@noaa.gov See http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/messages.html for this and other satellite related messages.
