Currently operating in parallel with Meteosat-8, due to fuel limitations, Meteosat-7 will end data transmissions, 0900 UTC, March 31, 2017. Prompted by the planned replacement and in agreement with EUMETSAT, NOAA/NESDIS will make Meteosat-8 imagery available in McIDAS format starting 1500 UTC, March 1, 2017. Current approved users of Meteosat-7 imagery from NOAA will be allowed access to Meteosat-8 McIDAS imagery from NESDIS' GEODIST6 server. EUMETSAT's policy for NOAA's Meteosat-8 data distribution within the U.S. is the same as for Meteosat-10. Available from NESDIS/ESPC GEODIST6 server, the data set name for ADDE access is "MIO/GLOB[01-12]," where [01-12] is the spectral band number designation. Users are encouraged to test M-8 IODC data access prior to the end of March 2017. Users should also note that Meteosat-8 IODC McIDAS imagery will be provided on a best effort basis from NOAA/NESDIS. If data interruptions occur on weekends and holidays, users should expect additional delays for restoration of Meteosat-8 imagery. *P**oint of Contact for **Further Information**:* ESPC Operations at ESPCOperations@noaa.gov at 301-817-3880 * Web Site(s) for applicable information**:*N/A You have been sent this and other notifications because you have opted in to receive it.
