Details/Specifics of Ch= ange: NESDIS will officially transition the new S-NPP/GCOM-W1 data processi= ng/distribution systems to operations on March 8, 2017 starting at 1500 UTC= .=C2=A0 The backup date for this transition will be March 9, 2017 at 1445 U= TC - this alternate date will be utilized for transition if the March 8th t= ransition date/time is cancelled due to a need to support critical weather.=

Additional information...= =C2=A0 S-NPP/GCOM users obtaining data from the current operational NDE sys= tem will operationally transition to the new NESDIS enterprise Product, Dis= tribution and Access (PDA) dissemination system for the existing products t= hey receive today.=C2=A0 As a notice to our users, there are no expected ch= anges for those receiving NESDIS Unique Products (NUPs); however, users rec= eiving HDF5 pass-through data will see filename convention changes and the = HDF5 data will be internally compressed using Zlib lossless compression. Cu= rrent NDE pull users need to modify their pull script to accommodate the fi= le name change for IDPS pass-through products.
