Date/Time of Initial Impact: March 27, 2017 at approximately 1600 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: N/A Length of Event: N/A Details/Specifics of Change: During the week of March 27 - March 31, HRIT/EMWIN will be participating in a GOES-16 antenna exercise. The content on the broadcast will contain GOES Data Collection System (DCS) observations, NWS Emergency Managers Weather Information Network (EMWIN) and environmental messages, and charts. The test will include a non-continuous partial set of EMWIN data. On one day during this test, approximately four (4) hours of GOES-16 ABI Cloud and Moisture Imagery (CMI) will be broadcast. The imagery will be in LRIT/HRIT format, full disk every half an hour. The ABI bands broadcast will be 2, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14 and 16. The spatial resolution will be 2 kilometers. This is currently scheduled for Monday, March 27th between the hours of 1600 UTC and 2000 UTC but may be postponed to later in the week. ABI CMI imagery WILL NOT be included on Tuesday, March 28th. Note: The HRIT/EMWIN signal will be on GOES-16 located at 89.5 degrees West. The frequency is 1694.1 MHz. The data rate is 400 Kbps. The modulation is BPSK. The polarization is linear with vertical offset. *NOAA's GOES-16 satellite has not been declared operational and its data are preliminary and undergoing testing.
