The VTX-1 is a VHF transmitter for the transmission of low resolution APT (Automatic Picture Transmission) imagery derived from the AVHRR for our VHF direct Users. The high resolution direct broadcast AVHRR imagery uses a different transmitter at L-Band and remains nominal. The recorded GAC (Global Area Coverage) that contains medium resolution AVHRR imagery and the recorded LAC (Local Area Coverage) that contains high resolution AVHRR imagery that is transmitted to the ground over L/S-Band also remains nominal. The AVHRR imaging instrument and all associate processing that produces the several output image resolution formats that are than transmitted to the ground, including the APT output, remains nominal.
