users of the cancellation of the Suomi-NPP VIIRS Moderate Band 11 (M11)
nighttime data collection that was scheduled for August 31, 2017
starting at 1542Z. The cancellation of this activity is due to critical
weather declaration being extended that requires S-NPP maintain the
highest availability data collection in support of significant rainfall
and flooding in portions of Texas and Louisiana from Tropical Cyclone
Harvey; therefore, all changes are suspended until further notice.*

for night time data collection on August 31, 2017 starting at 1542Z
*Update #3: * As of Aug 23, 2017 1800Z, this update is to inform users
of the cancellation of the Suomi-NPP VIIRS Moderate Band 11 (M11)
nighttime data collection that was scheduled for August 24, 2017
starting at 19:37Z. The cancellation of this activity is due to
critical
weather declaration that requires S-NPP maintain the highest
availability data collection in support of tropical system activity in
Gulf of Mexico that is forecast to impact the region; therefore, all
changes are suspended until critical weather is over.*
Update #2: *Suomi-NPP VIIRS Moderate Band 11 (M11) nighttime data
collection will be enabled on August 24, 2017 starting at 19:37Z and
this change will be permanent.

segment systems or from direct broadcast services such as High
Rate Data
(HRD) should expect to see data volume increases for M11 on and after
August 24, 2017 1937Z, as data is collected during both day and
night times.
