Subject: SARSAT Outage/Anomaly:SARSAT 12 (NOAA 19/P) LEO Satellite This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_mKnv+yzqc5IolfgtWrDWMg) Content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT *Topic: *SARSAT 12 (NOAA 19/P) LEO Satellite Search and Rescue Processor (SARP) problem *Date/Time Issued:* November 15, 2017 1730Z *Product(s) or Data Impacted:* SARSAT alert data *Date/Time of Initial Impact:* November 14, 2017 2148Z *Date/Time of Expected End:* TBD *Length of Outage:* TBD *Details/Specifics of Change:* The USMCC believes that SARSAT Satellite S12 has suffered an anomaly on the SARP instrument. The anomaly was detected due to the SARP failing to report the McMurdo Orbitography Beacon since November 14, 2017 at 2148Z. This anomaly was last seen in 2015, and was corrected by a software reset. A SARP reset will take place November 15, 2017 at 1941Z. After the reset, new time calibration data will need to be sent to all LEOLUTs. *Impact:*Medium-Loss of Storage/forward capability. Satellite is limited to real-time/local distress detection and relay. Timeliness of global coverage detection and relay affected.* *** *Contact Information for Further Information: *USMCC Operations usmcc@noaa.gov at 301-817-4576 *Web Site(s) for applicable information:* N/A This message was sent by ESPC.Notification@noaa.gov.
