CONFLICTING SIGNALS AS TO THE INTENSITY OF GEORGETTE. VISIBLE IMAGERY
SHOWS A SMALL WELL DEFINED CDO WITH A NARROW BUT HIGHLY WRAPPED BANDING
FEATURE OF 9/10, WHICH WOULD RESULT IN A DT OF 3.5. EIR IMAGERY SHOWS
THE CENTER EMBEDDED IN MG SUGGESTING A DT OF 4.0. A COMPARISON OF
THE CURRENT CONVENTIONAL SATELLITE IMAGERY WITH THAT OF 24 HOURS AGO
INDICATES LITTLE CHANGE, WHICH RESULTS IN A MET OF 3.5. MOST RECENT AMSU
AND AMSR2 MICROWAVE IMAGES REVEAL A BANDING PATTERN, WHICH WAS ULTIMATELY
USED TO FAVOR THE DT OF 3.5 BASED ON BANDING OF 9/10, BUT THERE WAS A
HINT OF A POSSIBLE PINHOLE EYE IN THE 37GHZ AMSR2 IMAGE AT 2044Z. MET
AND PT ARE 3.5. THE FT IS BASED ON THE MET GIVEN THE UNCERTAINTY IN THE
CLOUD FEATURES.
