DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z November 01, 2005

Arizona/New Mexico:
A fire in northeast Coconino county is producing a thin plume of smoke
that is moving southwest into Mohave county.  A second fire in southeast
Coconino county is emitting a thin smoke plume moving southwest into
Yavapai county. Another fire in southern Coconino county is producing
a thin smoke plume moving southwest into Gila county.  A fire northern
Gila county is emitting a thin plume of smoke into Yavapai and Maricopa
counties.   In New Mexico a fire on the border of McKinley and San Juan
counties is emitting a thin smoke plume moving south southeast across
McKinley county.

California:
A fire in northern Monterey county is producing a dense smoke plume moving
west across the county and into the Pacific.  A fire in southeastern
Humboldt county is emitting a moderate smoke plume moving east into
Trinity county.  Their are numerous agricultural burns emitting small thin
smoke plumes in Glenn, Colusa, Sutter, and Butte counties.  These smoke
plumes are moving south southeast across the above counties.

Middle Atlantic:
In Virginia a fire buring in northern Halifax county is producing a
moderate smoke plume moving northeast into Prince Edward, Lunenburg,
Charlotte, Nottoway, Amelia, and Powhatan counties.  Another fire in
southern Mecklenburg county Virginia is producing a thin smoke plume that
is moving northeast into Brunswick county.  A fire in central Lunenburg
county Virginia is producing a thin smoke plume moving northeast into
Dinwiddie, Amelia and Nottoway counties.  In North Carolina a fire
burning in southern Davidson county is producing a thin smoke plume
moving northeat into Randolph and Guilford counties.  A second fire
burning in southern Guilford county is emitting a smoke plume that is
moving north northeast into Caswell, Rockingham and Alamance counties in
north central North Carolina.  A fire in northern Moore county is emitting
a thin smoke plume moving northeast into Lee and Chatham counties.

Lower Mississippi Valley/Southeast U.S.:
A large cluster of fires are burning across eastern Arkansas, southern
Louisiana and southern and northeastern Mississippi.  Some large fire
of interest include a fire in southeastern Sumter county in Alabama is
producing a dense smoke plume moving north across Greene Tuscaloosa and
Pickens counties.  Another fire in Alabama emitting a dense smoke plume is
burning in central Chambers county with smoke moving north into Randolph
and Clay counties.  A couple of fires burning in Georgia are producing
dense smoke plumes.  A fire in eastern Putnam county has smoke moving into
Morgan, Greene, Oconee, Jackson, Clarke, Madison and Oglethorpe counties.
A fire on the border of Chattooge and Floyd counties is emitting smoke
moving into Walker and Dade counties and is now moving into Tenessee. A
fire in southern Concordia county located in Louisana is emitting a dense
smoke plume moving north into Tensas, Catahoula and Franklin counties.
