DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0115Z February 8, 2006

Arizona:
A fire in northern Gila County produced a narrow plume of dense smoke
about 55 km long. The smoke extended westward into Yavapai county.

Southern California:
A large wildfire in Orange County near Anaheim has burned over 3500
acres. A plume of dense smoke stretched across southern Los Angeles
County to the Pacific Ocean.

Florida/ S Alabama:
A fire in northeastern Hendry County in southern Florida produced a plume
of thin smoke that extended northeastward to western Martin and southern
St Lucie Counties. Fires in central Osceola County produced thin smoke
that drifted eastward to the Atlantic Ocean.
Thin smoke plumes extended southward from fires in Okaloosa County
Florida and Escambia County in southern Alabama.

Louisiana/ Texas:
Several fires in Louisiana and southern Texas produced plumes of thin
smoke that drifted southward toward the Gulf of Mexico.
