DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

California: An area of thin aerosol extended from coastal southern California near San Diego westward into the Pacific about 325 km. It is not certain what the source is – it may be smoke from fires that were observed last evening in the Sacramento valley but is more likely haze from the Los Angeles basin that has become entrained in an offshore cyclonic circulation. Florida: A fire in southeast Levy county is producing a thin plume of smoke that extends east into western Marion county. Ruminski
