DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0225Z MARCH 9, 2006

North Carolina:
A fire in NE Onslow County produced a plume of dense smoke that extended
eastwward over Carteret and S Craven Counties...then to the southeast
over the Atlantic.

South Carolina/ Georgia/ Alabama:
Widespread agricultural fires were observed in the Southeast. Thin
smoke drifted northward from the fires over Burnwell County in South
Carolina...Bryan, Long and Jasper Counties in Georgia and Monroe County
in Alabama.

Florida:
Plumes of dense smoke extended to the NW from fires in Collier, Brevard
and Osceola Counties while smoke drifted northward from the fires in
Dixie and Taylor Counties.

Baja California:
A fire in northern Baja produced a plume of thin smoke that moved
southward to N Gulf of California.
