DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0202Z APRIL 27, 2006.

New Mexico:
Fires in Catron and NW Socorro County produced narrow plumes of dense
smoke that extended northward to Cibola and SW McKinley County.

Northern Plains/ Upper Mississippi Valley:
Numerous agricultural burns were observed over the area from NW
Nebraska/N Iowa to E North Dakota/NW Minnesota. These fires produced
light and moderate smoke plumes that drifted mostly to the NE in the
Dakotas/Nebraska and to the E and SE in Minnesota/Iowa.

Saskatchewan/Manitoba Canada:
Agricultural burns in SE Saskatchewan and SW Manitoba produced numerous
plumes of light to moderately dense smoke that drifted mostly to the
north.
