DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0115Z MAY 4, 2006.

Western Gulf of Mexico:
An extensive area of light smoke and haze extended from southeastern
Mexico across the western Gulf of Mexico to southern Texas.

Georgia/ Florida:
A fire in western Bryan County in SE Georgia produced a plume of dense
smoke that extended eastward over the Atlantic. A narrow plume of thin
smoke drifted to the east from a fire located in western Colquitt County
in SW Georgia.

Northwest:
Plumes of light to moderately dense smoke extended mostly toward the SW
from fires in Oregon, northern California and southwestern Idaho. Plumes
of dense smoke extended to the SW from a cluster of fires located in
Whitman County in E Washington.
