DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1515Z June 10, 2006.

Canada:
Some smoke can be seen on morning visible imagery between the ice pack
on the Husdon Bay and Lake Nipigon and almost reaching Lake Superior.

Florida:
No smoke seen.

Southern Plains:
Smoke or haze covers a region from southeast Kansas, through eastern
Oklahoma into much of northeast Texas.

Southwest US:
No smoke noted.

  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
