DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z July 21, 2006.

Minnesota/Ontario/Wisconsin/Michigan:
A fire east of Lake Woods in southwest Ontario is producing an area
of thick smoke moving south southeast to near the border of Minnesota.
Multiple fires or one large fire on the border of Cook and Lake counties
is emitting an area of thick smoke moving quickly across Lake Superior
and into Ashland and Iron counties in Wisconsin and Gogebic county
in Michigan.

Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley and Northern/Central Plains:
Smoke from yesterday's wildfires in Wyoming and Montana can be seen
in visible imagery crossing through South Dakota, Nebraska, southern
Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Illinois.  The densest portions of smoke
seem to be moving through Nebraska and Iowa.

Virginia:
A fire in southern Halifax county is producing a narrow plume of
moderately dense smoke moving north across Charlotte, Prince Edward,
Amelia, Nottoway and Cumberland counties.  A small fire in Sussex county
is emitting a light plume of smoke north northeast into Surry county.

Georgia:
A fire on the Bryant and Liberty border is emitting a light plume of
smoke moving west into Tattnall, Evans, Long and Bulloch counties.

Texas:
A large fire in Throckmorton county in central Texas is producing a
moderately dense plume of smoke moving rapidly west into the counties
of Stonewall, Haskell and Kent counties.

Idaho/Montana:
In Granite county, a thick plume of smoke is emitting from a fire
southeast across Jefferson, Silver Bow, Deer, Lodge and Broadwater
counties.  The smoke output from this fire has grown rapidly throughout
the day.
A fire in Lemhi county Idaho is producing an area of thick smoke moving
east southeast into Madison and Beaverhead counties in Montana.  Another
fire in Clearwater county is emitting an area of moderately dense smoke
moving southeast.  Multiple fires in Valley county Idaho are producing
areas of moderate to thick smoke plumes moving east into Lemhi counties.
A fire on the border of Caster/Boise counties is emitting an area of
thick smoke southeast into Blaine, Elmore and Casnas counties in Idaho.
And finally, a fire in Minidoho county is producing a line of moderate
smoke moving east into Cassia county.

Yukon Territory:
Multiple fires north of Kluanie National Park are producing areas of
moderately dense smoke moving north northwest into southeast Alaska and
part of the southwest Yukon Territory.
Multiple fires in the Mackenzie Mountains and in and around Great Bear
Lake are producing areas of moderate smoke moving east across the region.
An area of left over smoke stretching from 133W to 115W and between
65N/68N is continuing to move east across the Yukon Territory and into
the Northwest Territories.
