DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1200Z August 9, 2006.

Northwest Territories:
Smoke from wildfires surrounding Great Bear Lake is visible moving up
to the northeast.

Oregon:
Smoke from wildfires yesterday in central Oregon can be seen mixed in
with a light amount of haze.

Idaho:
Fires in central Idaho are producing light to moderately dense plumes
of smoke that are moving to the east northeast.

Washington/Southern Canada:
The large wildfire in Okanogan National Forest of northern Washington
State continues producing massive amounts of dense smoke that is moving
to the northeast, across southern Canada, with light portions reaching
as far as Minnesota. Due to cloud cover visibility is limited, but light
smoke is definitely still visible.
