DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1630Z September 08, 2006

United States:
Dispersed smoke from yesterdays  large fire along the border between
Ventura and Los Angeles counties is now observed in extreme southern
Nevada and the border region of Arizona and California. Small amounts
of smoke is seen moving northwestward from the Placer county fire. Smoke
from the fires in Trinity and Siskiyou county in northern California is
is moving northward into western Oregon.


Elsewhere

A large fire is seen near Stillwater county in southern Montana with smoke
extending northwestward for about 165 nmi. Large areas of dispersed smoke
is observed in much of eastern Washington State, eastern British Columbia,
eastern Montana, western South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.
