DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Southeastern United States: Scattered agricultural fires produced narrow plumes of thin smoke that drifted mostly to the south over the Lower Mississippi Valley. A larger fire in northwestern Saline County in central Arkansas caused a plume of dense smoke that extended westward to southern Scott and northern Polk County. A swath of haze/smoke stretched from eastern Texas across the northern Gulf of Mexico to eastern South Carolina.
