DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 2345Z October 17, 2006

California:
A small agricultural fire near El Nido in Merced county is producing thin
smoke that is moving SSE through the central valley of California. It
extends about 97km to near Calflax in S Fresno county.

British Columbia:
A fire near Lillooet SW of Kamloops is producing moderate smoke that is
movinging NE toward Kamloops.

A fire near Chu Chua near the North Thompson River is producing a narrow
plume of moderately dense smoke that is moving NE toward the higher
peaks and glaciers near Hallam Peak.
