DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z November 10, 2006

California and Oregon:
Several fires in Siskiyou and Shasta counties of northern California and
Jackson and Klamath counties of sourhern Oregon are producing moderately
dense plumes of smoke. The smoke plumes just influnce locally.

Arizona and Utah:
Three fires in Coconino counity of Arizona and Two fires in Garfield
county of Utah are producing moderately dense plumes of eastward
smoke. The smoke plumes just influnce loacal areas except the on in
southern Coconino county which is moving to the northeast and crossed
Navajo county into Apache county of Arizona.

Florida:
A big fire in the intersection among Wakulla, Lieberty and Leon are
producing a moderately dense to locally dense plume of smoke moving
southeastward accross eastern half of Wakulla county to the Gulf of
Mexico. A fire south of John F. Kennedy Space center is producing a
moderately dense plume of smoke moving easterly to the Pacific. Three
fires in Osceola, Hillsborough, and Hendry counties are producing thin
to moderately dense plumes of southeasterly smoke.

  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
