DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0226Z February 23, 2007

Arizona and Mexico:
A fire in Sierra Vista, southwest of Cochise county in southern Arizona
and a fire in Mexico are starting to emit smoke which is moving to
the northeast.

Texas:
A fire in Houston county is producing a moderately dense plume of smoke
that is moving northwestward into central Houston county.

Lower Mississippi(Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and
Mississippi)/southwestern US(Alabama and Florida)/Oklahoma/Tennessee:
More than 30 smoke plumes are observed from today's satellite
imagery. Most of these smoke plumes are moving to either southwest or
southeast. The fires in MC Curtain county of southeastern Oklahoma,
Yell county of Arkansas,and Vernon and Rapides counties of Louisiana
are producing more significant smoke plumes.
