DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z March 3, 2007


Oklahoma:
Agricultural fires throughout eastern Oklahoma are producing light
smoke that is moving to the w sw.  The largest fire can be found in
Muskogee county, but it is not producing much more than a lengthy light
smoke plume.

Texas:
A fire in Brooks county of southern Texas is producing light to moderatley
dense smoke that is moving ne.

Along the eastern edge of Texas there is a fire producing light smoke
that is moving out over the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
