DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0145Z March 16, 2007

Arkansas:
Two fires in eastern and western Scott county of western Arkansas
respectively are producing moderately dense to locally dense plumes
of smoke that are moving southward into northern Polk and Montgomery
counties.

Oregon:
A fire in northwestern Gouglas county is producing a moderately dense
plume of smoke that is moving southward within the range of 30km.

California:
A fire in Colusa county of northern California is producing a thin plume
of smoke that is moving southerly into central Yolo county.

Texas:
Several fires from northern to southern Texas are producing thin plumes
of smoke.

Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.

Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.

A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.

Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
