DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z March 17, 2007

Oregon:
In Coos county of sw Oregon, there is a cluster of fires producing
moderately to very dense smoke that is circulating around the fires and
slowly moving to the ne.

Oklahoma:
A large amount of fires throughout all of Oklahoma are producing light
to moderately dense smoke.  The largest fire is located in the center
of Pushmataha county and is producing a very dense plume of smoke that
extends 115 nmi south into northeastern Texas.

Louisiana/Arkansas/Missouri:
Many fires throughout these states are producing light smoke that is
moving south or slightly southeast.  The majority are found in southern
Missouri and northern Arkansas.

A large group of fires that have spread throughout Polk and Scott counties
in Arkansas are producing a strong plume of light to moderately dense
smoke that is moving south along the western coast.

Several fires in central Louisiana are producing very light smoke that
extends all the way to the southern Gulf coast.

Texas:
A few fires in southern Texas are producing light smoke that is moving
directly south into Mexico.
