DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Georgia: The western portion of the Big Turnaround Complex in the eastern portion of Ware county is producing moderate to thin smoke that extends E into the eastern Atlantic Ocean of NE McIntosh county. The plume is about 24km wide. Bahamas (Grand Bahama): A few fires along the eastern portion of Grand Bahama is producing moderate to dense smoke that is moving N and exents about 100km north and is about 40km. A plume above the low level inversion is drifting South 88km but is only about 24km wide. New Mexico: A fire in the SW portion of Eddy county in the Lincoln Nat'l Forest/Gaudalupe Mts. or just to the west of the Carlsbad Nat'l Park is producing a thin line of thin smoke that extends about 40km due west and is only about 5km. Colorado: A fire along the Garfield/Mesa county line to the North of Collbran or south of Rifle in the Grand Mesa Nat'l Forest is producing moderately dense smoke that is moving S across the valley and over Mtns along the Mesa/Delta county line into central Delta county near Delta. The plume is about 19km wide. California: A fire near Hackmore near in west central Modoc county (most likely along SR-139) is producing moderately dense smoke that is moving NE to the California/Oregon state line near the western shores of Goose Lake. The plume is about 13km wide. Oregon: A few fires in extreme southern Coos and Curry county have produced an area of thin smoke is moving S and SW so that it covers all of Curry county and coastal regions off Curry county as the smoke is drifting along with the developing marine stratus layer. Idaho: A fire near Idaho City in southern Boise county is producing dense smoke that is moving due west over the mtns of N Elmore county into extreme western Camas county. This plume is about 35km wide. A fire near Sanders in Benewah county is producing a 13km wide line of moderately dense smoke that is moving NE across the county into west central Shoshone county (or 60km from the source) near Calder.
