DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0225Z May 18, 2007

SE Georgia/NE Florida:
Large fires in Ware/SE Clinch Counties in Georgia and N Columbia/N Baker
Counties in northeastern Florida produced moderate to heavy smoke that
moved eastward to the Atlantic while thin smoke drifted southward over
Florida to the SE Gulf of Mexico. A fire in eastern Collier county in
southern Florida caused a plume of moderate smoke that moved southward
to the Florida Keys.

Texas/ Louisiana/ Alabama:
Narrow plumes of thin smoke drifted southward from fires in S Jefferson
County in northeastern Texas and S Vernon/ N Pointe Coupee Parishes in
Louisiana. A fire in E Escambia County in southern Alabama produced a
plume of moderately dense smoke that moved southward over the Florida
Panhandle to the Gulf of Mexico.

Oregon/Idaho:
A fire in The Siuslaw National Forest in SW Lane County produced a plume
of moderately dense smoke that extended to the east-southeast over NW
Douglas County. A fire in central Marion County produced a plume of
light and moderate smoke that drifted to the NE over southern Clackamas
County. A fire in Shoshone County in N Idaho caused a plume of moderately
dense smoke that extended northeastward to Sanders County in NW Montana.
