DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0045Z June 18, 2007

Quebec:
Though fewer in number than yesterday, dense smoke plumes were pushing
south southeast from still numerous fires in central Quebec.  The leading
edge of the smoke should reach the St. Lawrence in an hour.

Ontario:
Light smoke from a fire in north central Ontario extended 118 nmi east
into James Bay and across Akimiski Island.

Alberta:
Complex of fires in Wood Buffalo National Park was generating light to
moderate smoke that reached 200 nmi to the east southeast.

Northwest Territories:
Moderately dense smoke extended 45 nmi to the southeast of a blaze west
of the Mackenzie River.

Arizona:
A light smoke plume from a fire in Gila County extended 55 nmi to the
east northeast.

California:
Moderately dense smoke emanating from a blaze in Tulare County was
moving east.

Oregon:
Dense smoke stretched 85 nmi east of a fire in Sherman County.
