DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1645 July 13, 2007

Northern Alaska

Thin dispersed smoke is seen from the Brooks Range northward into the
Arctic Ocean.

California Coast

Thin smoke can be seen along the coast mainly between Santa Barbara and
Los Angeles.

Pacific Northwest

A relatively thick patch of smoke cover extreme northeast Oregon with
thinner smoke extending eastward into Central Idaho.

Northwest Canada

A ribbon of smoke extends from extreme northern Alberta though central
Manitoba into extreme southwest Saskatchewan where it gets obscured by
a cloud mass.

Central US

A relatively thick ribbon of smoke extends from Central Minnesota
southward though Central Iowa then southward into Central Illinois
then eastward through Central Indiana into western Ohio. This ribbon
might be connected to the smoke in Canada but clouds obscures the area
in Minnesota.
