THROUGH 2332Z December 10, 2007

Alabama/Georgia/South Carolina:
No significant smoke can be seen today...but quite a few agricultural
fires have small smoke plumes that extend no more than 20km from their
source fire across the SE quardrant of AL, SW through EC GA, a far S SC.
Most smoke is moving N or NNW across AL, W across SW GA, and E or ENE
across Central GA into S SC.

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
